Sometimes solemn, more often comic, the show affords a brief introduction to a variety of characters, from an old storytelling marionette man to a life-sized puppet with ideas of his own; from a silent masked man with a magical box to a spoiled, silly baby.

Director Michael Montenegro has been making extraordinary puppet theatre in Chicago for more than 15 years. He is now one of the first artists people turn to when they want puppets and has become known as the senior practitioner of puppetry in Chicago.
