Rolando Mancera was born in Presa Blanca Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico in 1983. Since he was a child, his family has fondly called him Roli and now, that is how he identifies himself and signs his paintings.
From a young age, Roli has had the proclivity to paint. He started with crayons and cartoons drawings. As a boy, Roli spent many hours developing his talent and sharing his artwork with family. To him, it was an enjoyable hobby and creative way to spend his time; he never dreamed that someday he would be hosting art shows and giving interviews to the press...
Always loving an adventure, Roli came to the United States in 1998. At first, it was exciting and fun to explore and make his way in the world but reality soon set in without the security of his parents nearby. Roli joined the workforce to meet his responsibilities and became an adult. During his first few years in the United States, Roli took any opportunity to work and could not pay much attention to his art while he was trying to survive.
After a while, Roli settled in and met his wife Erika. After their marriage, Roli took some time to reflect on his interests, abilities, and talents. Art was resurrected. In their small apartment, Roli set up a studio and devoted time to his painting.
As he began painting again, he was able to reflect on his natural ability and realized that this was no longer just a hobby: it was a God-given talent that he was meant to nurture and share. Roli was inspired by this realization.
He began using acrylic paint on paper in 2004 and progressed to oil on canvas. Inspired by nature and performed innately, his present works are considered realism. His paintings are full of color and rich with life.
