The Tulipanes Latino Art and Film Festival will host its 11th Anniversary Festival on Saturday September 17 and Sunday September 18, 2011.
Centennial Park in the center of Holland (Michigan) will serve as the principal venue for several events such as the Children's Art Workshop "Hands that Heal", Pinata Breaking, The Musical showcase which future music and dances groups representing Mexico and Latin America. Award-winning films will be shown at the historical Knickerbocker Theatere. Films include shorts, animation, documentaries, and feature-length, all of which explore a variety of themes in which Latino imagination and creativity approach humor, politics, culture, fiction and art. (Most films are screened in Spanish with English subtitles). Salsa Night is a ticketed event; it offers a unique opportunity to hear, dance and enjoy the dazzling sounds of Salsa. Tickets can be purchased in advanced at the Holland's Visitor Bureau.
All events are open and free to the public.
The mission of the Tulipanes Festival is to create cross-cultural understanding and to celebrate Latino culture and identity through art, music, film, dance & educational events.
